About Us

IMG_5218Holy Ghost Bumps originally began in February of 2011 and was supposed to become a fitness program for your relationship with God.  It was supposed to help others walk closer with our Father through their tough times.  It was supposed to build their faith…not so much mine.

How many of us know that our plans sometimes don’t line up with His?  March 19th of 2012, our family suffered the tragic loss of our three-month-old daughter, Mia Roance.  As I looked back on the blog after she received her angel wings, I realized that I wasn’t writing for everyone else’s relationship…I was building mine.  He knew before Mia was ever an idea that we were only going to have her for three months and thirteen days.  And He knew that I would need to be a lot stronger and closer to Him for what was to come.

So, here we are.  A little over two years and over 20,000 views later.  I’m still writing about relationship-building, but it’s decidedly more poignant.  His strength, peace and mercy flow through me into my wife (Lena), our five girls (Samantha, Makayla, Caitlin, Emma and Mia), and hopefully to you.  I pray that what you read here blesses you and helps you draw nearer to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost.  In spite of our loss, we still get Holy Ghost Bumps every time we feel Him near.  No matter your circumstance…you can, too.  Be blessed.

  1. Hi Guy thank you for your encouragement on my Blog it was very much appreciated and I’m also encouraged with your messages that I have read so far, they are very uplifting.

I would like to offer you personally The King of Kings Friendship Award…you are free to accept it or not, I know you clicked the Like button as did a few others and I really appreciated your acceptance of my idea to uplift who we are in The Lord as the Body of Christ but I just wanted to make it more personal as I do with all those who click Like because it shows they agree we are one, we are family.

  3. Haha… My poor son is the only boy out of 5 girls as well… he and I out out-gunned and out-numbered. At least your bio gives me hope he will live through it.

    • LOL…he’s got a LONG road ahead. Send him my way if he needs some advice :). My philosophy on it is to shave my head. This way I stave off all the gray from the estrogen in the air. Be blessed!

  5. Hello my brother! With a saddened heart but strong spirit, I offer my love and condolences to you and beautiful family. May God continue to strengthen you during this most difficult time.
Father, I lift my brother and his family up during this time of extreme difficulty. I know you have all the details as well as the answers. Father cover them in your loving arms and comfort them by your Spirit.

May the very spirit of peace overshadow each of them and let know that you are there…even now! You promised in your Word that you will never leave of forsake us…remind them of that at this time!

Thank you Father for your love and grace that we can count on every day of our lives. For there is none like you! Thank you for the victory–even now!

    In Jesus’ Name!!!

    • As always, Sebastian, you are a wonderful Brother in Christ. I appreciate the prayer more than you know. Maybe one day soon, we can share our God moment in Atlanta. Blessings to you and your family.

  6. Father, I come to you on behalf of this young family who finds themselves in deep heartache. I, personally do not know this type of loss, but I do know you are there even now. May they feel your presence today, Father, and embrace your love, comfort and healing. Thank you, Father for all you are and do!
    In your name,

  9. Love, Love, Love this blog! I can relate about “the call to blog.” The same call hit me and I literally had to google search what a “blog” was. I had no clue, but it is amazing when you see the lives being touched by what comes out of you. And countless others who may come by, read, and not leave an indication they came by, except the “hits” number keeps rising. 🙂 I’m happy to meet you. May God continue to use you and your lovely wife until HIS RETURN 🙂

    Blessings, Peace and Safety,

    • Thank you so very much, Dulcinea. He is awesome, isn’t He??? Were it not for His motivation to start HGB, I have NO idea how we would begin to weather this storm that we’re in. He has truly blessed us in the midst of this tragedy. I pray He continues to guide and strengthen you as well. Be blessed…

  10. Hey Brother! I’m not quite sure what to make of these blogging awards but I recently received the “Sunshine Blog Award” and I thought I would pass it on to you. I know how much you love these things (how many times have you been nominated??) and I feel really bad for leaving you out of my last “blog roll” post. 🙂 Anyway, it states that it’s for “bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere”, and you have DEFINITELY been an inspiration. Whether or not you choose to accept or pass it on isn’t the big deal to me, but letting you know you’ve made a difference, I thought, was. 🙂

    • Oh my gosh!!! I have SO many people to thank for this award! My mother…my father…oh…it wouldn’t be possible without my Heavenly Father! Seriously, though, it really is an honor to be nominated for these awards…thank you very much, Brother. It’s so amazing how God can move through little things like blogs and Facebook and other social media. I have been somewhat remiss in meeting the expectations associated with these awards given everything that’s been going on. I promise you, though, that as soon as I come up for air, I’ll take care of the housekeeping :). Blessings to you, Brother. I truly appreciate your support.

      • You’re very welcome. All jesting aside, it’s nice when someone notices your efforts. I know you’ve been needin’ the love lately, and you’ve always got that, but you’ve still been able to bless in many, many ways! (When you come up for air, of course!) 🙂

Peace in God’s will to you my friend!

  11. I was SO intrigued by the blog name, I had to come for a first visit!! Wow. And you’re a cop, among other things–interesting. Well, how ’bout I stop by again later–God bless you and your family abundantly. sis Caddo

    • Thank you so much for stopping by, Caddo. I’m just writing what my Heavenly Father leads me to write. This blog started out as a “build your relationship with God” type of site. Since our Mia passed away six weeks ago, He has taken it to another level entirely. Now He has me writing from a very painful place…one that only He can bring me through. Thank you again, and love your poetry :). Blessings to you and your family…

  12. My daughter in law sent me your link to read your blog. I am glad she (Laura Majors) did. She says yall work together? That is great. She and her husband can always use good friends!!! I am enjoying the reading thus far and thank you for all the inspiration!
    Glinda Majors

  13. A beautiful blog you have. Mia’s story brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for stopping by my blog. I’ll be back by yours soon!

  14. I’m so sorry for your loss, encouraged by your transparency–building relationship with the Lord is a full-time occupation, and I love it–it’s the one relationship we can always count on. Prayers for your family’s continued healing.

  15. Thank you Guy , I just love how you have uplifted your Blog it looks great and thank you for always seeking to uplift others too, each one of us needs to know even in the dark times there is the beauty of Love, Hope, Joy and Peace. I know I have shared the Scripture below before with you Guy and you thanked me but as I read your message to us I was reminded of it’s wonderful Truth again, thank you for shining in the darkness, Jesus carried you to in His arms of Love and continues to uphold you and all your family, God bless you greatly now and always.

Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”

Jeremiah 29 :11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Lamentations 3: 33 For He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

Christian Love from both of us – Anne.

  16. Beautiful family! That little one is grinning so much haha 🙂 I enjoyed talking to you today, it gave me a lot to think about. Religion can be a little tricky to get into, especially when I’ve been Atheist for so long. I do, however, believe Jesus existed and that he was a pretty chill dude as I put it earlier lol. Keep up the good work with the blog, and stay a chill dude yourself! 🙂
